ACLU Sues Government over Christmas Holiday

By Bryan | December 6, 2007

Well, here is something that will affect everyone here, whether you are a believer or not. The ACLU, in the District Court of San Francisco, has filed a lawsuit against the federal government to officially remove Christmas from the list of federal holidays. However, the former head of the Virginia chapter of the ACLU, the one who failed the suit, is currently unavailable for comment due to his seven year prison sentence for possession of child pornography. The ACLU claims that this is the only religious holiday that is on the list, which they are right.

So, what does this ultimately mean? I am fine with this removal actually. If they want separation of church and state, that is fine. Do not let Christmas be a national holiday. However, you better be sure that I will be off work that day, along with every other Christian in America. If your employer denies you a day off for religious reasons, they could be in big trouble.

This means all atheists and other religious believers would have to work this day and would be out of a day off of a paid day off of work. I am sure the ACLU would be extremely popular with the masses for pulling this one off.
